^^

Thank God. (:

Doubt I’d get down to my resolutions..

.. just yet. (:

It’s been an extremely hectic 2 weeks for me! Obstetrics and Gynaecology is uberrr busy, and adding up to the full-on 8am-5pm shift, us TIs need to do a 1 in 4 on-call. i.e. we each have to do 1 on-call in 4 days… AND a weekend each.

SIAO BOH?

When on-call, we’re usually on our feet the whole time from 8am to 11pm. Hmm.. That’s.. 15hours, exclusive of breaks. It still sounds abit crazy taking away 2hours away from 15!!! But that’s how a long (long long long) day is like for a doctor. *bitter smile* And I think the ‘on our feet the whole time’ only refers to O&G. Just cos it is that busy down here.

But you know, I actually think our situation isn’t THAT bad.. If we compare ourselves to the Registrars, think long hours, sometimes needing to do nights (i.e. starting at 1030pm, finishing at 730am), learning pet hates of different consultants, pager beeping all through the night, training and studying, looking after their families. ALL at the same time.

SIAOSIAOSIAO BOH?

We TIs do on-calls (weekdays + weekends), see pts, don’t know the answer to management, present cases to Registrars, Registrars do the thinking and get the headaches. So ya. Life as a TI ISN’T BAD AT ALL. Pfft.

Time for me to stop complaining!!! One day, I’d be a Reg and may wish to remain as a TI – carefree, worriless (and POOR LOLOLOL) TI!!!

Need. To. Be. Positive!!!

AJA AJAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!

*back to my annoying research!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*

my summer back home!

okay no time to type anything down pfft. pictorial for this post!

2010 – bring it on!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! :D

i had a BLAST with my great friends on NY’s eve – counting down, sipping on sparkling wine, cheering to the new year, reflection + resolution time, dancing and getting high on Katy Perry’s Hot and Cold and Beyonce’s Single Ladies, Pictionary, reminiscing the old days..

24 hours of fun and laughter. and it’s this indescribable feeling that reminds me that it is love – in every way, that keeps me and most of us sane.

i am definitely welcoming the new year with open arms; just thinking about 3 months of overseas elective (inclusive of being home for 2 whole months!) and graduation is already making me all exciteddd!

will keep this post short and simple. i’ve made resolutions for the year but i’ll probably talk about them next time. just need to remember that it’s all up to me to fulfil them!

once again, to all of you reading this: a very happy new year! ^^

Thank You.. :)

Haven’t been feeling great for the past week, and James departing for Auckland this evening made me feel way worse. Won’t see him for the next 2 months or so. Damn long lah. Sian. I know, I know, this doesn’t exactly relate to my post title, just read on. :)

So I drove home from the airport by myself, stopped by the letter box and found a letter from the university for me, got out of the car, opened the letter while walking back home, and read this:

.. As a result of this review it has been determined that, with effect from the 2010 academic year, international students who gain NZ PR/citienship while enrolled in professional programmes with restricted entry will be eligible to be reclassified as domestic students for tuition fees purposes.

Finally, my dream did come true. :D I cannot imagine how hard Mum has to work to see me through all 6 years in medical school paying international fees, I cannot imagine how HUGE my student loan is gonna be, without this little help from the university. This will be nearly $50K off my student loan.

The burden is still on me (and Mum), but it feels way lighter now. I am very very thankful. :D All I need to do now is to successfully graduate from medical school this coming year!! It’s my ultimate goal of the year! Yeahhhhh~!

GRADUATION!!!!

:D

i think this weekend’s been the most fun one of the year! LOL. i sound super no life.

anyway!! it wasn’t just james who was graduating… it was also my seniors plus quite a number of my friends as well! i guess being in the health science profession most of your friends tend to be in the same field too! so yesterday was the health science graduation ceremony, and it was nice seeing so many of my friends who’ve been away for a couple of years (in christchurch/wellington.. or even in dunners but i never/hardly see them around) ALL AT THE SAME PLACE AT THE SAME TIME!!

and they were all dressed for the occasion; in their regalia, hood (in different pretty colour for different faculty!!!), and hats, accompanied by their family and friends.. (: this feeling is indescribable. in simple terms, i feel warm and snuggly inside hehe.

PHOTOS!! not many taken actually cos i ain’t got a PRO camera that takes awesome shots, i’m not a v good photographer anyway, and the weather was lame yesterday ==

with james and his parents in front of the all-famous clock tower in our campus!
