It’s nearly 12 midnight and I’m here at the hospital!
That’s right, it’s night shift for me this whole week, and it’s night 7 of 7 tonight WOOPIE!!!!!!!
Anyhoo, God has been gracious. My most feared shift of all time is actually going great. Nothing major has happened and the kids have been very good. So thankful for the awesome paediatric nurses, they are simply the best. Was fervently reading through the advanced paediatric life support folder (which is nearly 300 pages long!) in the last couple of days, just in case anything serious happened to the kiddies. On the bad side, I probably should be waiting to see some good interesting cases while on this shift so I can be more prepared in my next lot of night shift in 6 weeks. Mm, I’ll just see what comes.
So whilst on my night shift, I’ve actually managed to waste make use of my time doing a couple of things, and here’s what I’ve been up to!
- ONLINE SHOPPING
I tell you, this is probably the WORST thing that I should be doing!!! I’ve bought a total of…
- 4 items from Gipsy Scarlet (OMG I didn’t know they have such pretty clothesssss!!)

THE MODEL IS DAMN CHIO LOH. LOL.
- 3 + 2 items from Love Bonito (I know, on TWO separate occasions I’ve bought a total of 5 items :\)

- 1 item from Her Velvet Vase
- 1 item from Oh So Fickle
- AND COUNTING………. Who knows who’s gonna launch tonight!
IT IS MADNESSSSSSSSSSS.
I haven’t bought too many in sucha short span of time for the loooongest time because the blogshop launches are usually around evening time in Singapore, that makes it about 12-1am here in NZ. So, yes, I’ve been sadly missing out on launches, although not entirely, particularly the camping and F5ing bit!
Which reminds me, I was camping for OSF’s launch wanting to get 3 items looking at the preview the night before! AND I ONLY MANAGED TO GET ONE ITEM. SADNESSSSSSSSS. Anyway, moving on.
2. TWEETING AND WHATSAPPING ++ (and blogging! like now!)

Honestly, this night shift has been different from the previous ones that I’ve done (Gen Med, Gen Surg). We are expected to keep ourselves awake just in case we miss pages/we’re too groggy to see a super sick child. So yes, I’ve been staying up for most of my shifts (except once when I dozed off for like half an hour! I actually feel abit bad, but thankfully it was a quiet night!).
So using this time I’ve been tweeting abit more and because most of my twitter friends are in Singapore (YOOOHOOOOO!), there’s more interaction rightrightright!?
*Pause. Just had a call from ED for some advice for a kiddy.* Back now!
So yeah, I think I just like talking too much. And being on night shift does make you slightly, no, VERY socially isolated. I normally get home by 0830, sleep till about 4-5pm (EXCEPT FOR TONIGHT I GOT UP AT 8PM WHAT!!!!!!), have dinner, sleep abit more, work, and the cycle repeats x7. And so, virtual interactions have become super duper important!
*Just got back from Emergency! 1 new admission *
Okay I think end of section.
3. READING
You know, I’ve never been a HUGE reader. I never used to like reading at all as a child. Dad used to force sis and I to read during our school holidays and expect us to write a summary about the books we’ve read. Not a huge fan, ay. And so when it was time to submit our ‘homework’, I just copied the blurb on the back of the book and gave it to my Dad. Either he thinks it’s FOR REAL, or he’s just letting me off, for like 10 years. HAHAHAHAHA. He probably doesn’t read it, he just wanted to ‘motivate’ us to read, that’s all! So I taught my sis this sneaky trick too. LOL.

So I actually started reading The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo trilogy since last year. Very interesting, I must say. I finished the first 2 very quickly, and before I left Singapore in Nov last year, I got the last book hoping to finish it while I’m here in NZ. Days turned to weeks, weeks turned to a year. HAHAHA. So this book has literally become my ‘plane book’, i.e. I only read it when I’m on a flight to somewhere. Probably cos the 3rd book only got more exciting at the end, I didn’t have the same urge to finish reading it within a couple of days. So yes, I FINALLY FINISHED READING IT WOOHOO!!!!!! Now I can go watch the movie.

Speaking of the movie, I’ve watched The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo that was filmed in Swedish – super disappointed in the movie, I must say. Emphasised on the WRONG scenes, should’ve chosen a more handsome Mikael Blomvist (I’m sorry, but he was portrayed as a good looking 40+ man but I cannot imagine falling in love with that guy in the Swedish film) etc. And so didn’t watch the other 2. Truth be told, I think Noomi Rapace played Lisbeth super well!!! And now there is hope! They’re using Daniel Craig as Mikael in the English version so that’s one good point!
I hope it won’t be as bad as the Swedish one otherwise I’d be super sad.

EEW BJURMAN GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mmm, yes I think you would be a yummier Mikael HAHAHA

I’ve also started reading my life application bible! I’ve been reading it on and off while reading my bible for further reference but nothing too detailed. Only started this yesterday though. I must say I’m learning so much more with all the detailed reading! Thank God.
4. Dazing
I know, I’m so good at it, I tell you!!
5. And of course, working
HAHAHA, what? You know I very free ah?
OKAY END OF RANT BYEBYEBYEBYEBYEBYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
